Although celiac disease does have some features of a true food allergy, it’s considered more of a food intolerance because the symptoms are mainly a result of issues with the gastrointestinal system. People with celiac disease also do not face the risk of anaphylaxis unlike other serious food allergies. Remarkably, seniors can still develop food allergies and intolerances even at their age, so always be sure check with your doctor if you think you’re developing some questionable body chemistry in regards to certain foods!
