If I give someone a Power of Attorney, does that mean I don't have control over my money any more?

No. You will have control of both your money and your estate. However, your power of attorney will also have access to your money. Your power of attorney is not supposed to access your money without permission, but unfortunately, in some cases, money has been stolen from clients. This is why it is extremely important that you trust who you designate as power of attorney.
