Psychotherapy is a very common method of treating depression that is broken down in three general ways. They are as follows:
- Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - This type of therapy helps individuals change their negative thinking by recognizing behaviors that may make depression worse.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) - This type of therapy helps individuals whereby individuals work through troubled relationships to alleviate some issues causing depression.
- Problem-Solving Therapy (PST) - This type therapy helps to improve someone’s reactions to stress in his or her life, ultimately making depression less severe.
