I’ve heard about something called the ABCs of Diabetes. Could you explain what this is?

Of course! This is a catchy way for seniors to remember three important aspects about diabetes:

The A stands for the A1C test used to show what your blood glucose levels have been over the last three months. This test helps to determine if your treatment is effective and lets doctors know what adjustments can be made.

The B is for blood pressure, which is important to maintain for those with diabetes.

Finally, the C is for cholesterol. For those with diabetes, one’s low-density lipoprotein should be less than 100.

Talk with your healthcare provider on how you can reach your ABCs!
