Pre-diabetes, also known as impaired glucose tolerance, is a condition when your blood sugar is high, but not high enough to be type 2 diabetes. Those that do nothing about it are likely to develop type 2 diabetes within 10 years. If you or your senior has pre-diabetes, it is possible to prevent type 2 diabetes by making lifestyle changes and taking medication that will bring blood sugars levels back to normal.
