Although keeping your mind sharp through things like social and intellectual engagement is associated with a lower risk of Alzheimer’s disease, it’s unclear whether it can be prevented altogether. Some studies indicate that a higher level of life-long mental engagement can cause Alzheimer’s to be delayed until later in life, yet even the well-educated can get the disease. But, interacting with others, doing volunteer work, even going back to college can be great ways to keep your brain active and learn new skills along the way!
