I can’t help but feel guilty about hiring a professional caregiver for my mother. Between work and the kids, I barely have time to decompress. Does anyone else feel this way?

You are not alone! Many caregivers feel this way, whether due to the added stress of dealing with their loved one’s health, balancing their personal lives, or even their cultural obligations as a family member. Everyone has their limits and as long as you can recognize what yours are then you shouldn’t feel bad about reaching or exceeding them. That being said, respite care is a perfectly acceptable course to take when providing care for a loved one.
