Yes. While the cause of this condition has not yet been identified, there are some early signs of Parkinson’s disease that you can be on the lookout for:

  • Loss of smell: Many individuals suffering from PD will lose their sense of smell.
  • Difficulty sleeping: This may include tossing and turning to the extent of falling out of bed.
  • Constipation: This is not to be confused with regular constipation due to a lack of fiber or other common issues.
  • Fainting spells: Low blood pressure is a side effect of PD that can result in fainting spells.
  • Hunching or bad posture: This will worsen as the disease becomes more prevalent.
  • Tremors or shaking: You may notice a faint tremor in the hands, fingers, chin, or even lips due to PD’s effect on motor skills.
  • Inability to show expression: People with PD may show a completely serious face at all times, despite being happy, sad, or any other emotion.
  • Lowered voice: Without realizing it, those with PD may start speaking in a lowered or softer voice.
  • Trouble walking: Those with the disease may feel stiffness in their limbs and be unable to move at times

Remember that these symptoms may be caused by a number of other conditions or diseases. However, following a diagnosis, most people realize that they have been displaying these signs for months or even years.
