Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative brain disorder that develops gradually and progressively gets worse with age. The neurons in the area of the brain responsible for producing dopamine are compromised and deteriorate. When these neurons are destroyed and dopamine is no longer being produced, it results in a loss of the ability to control your body movements. The disease is not contagious and there is no known cure, however, recent developments are showing promise.
