My senior parent doesn't have dementia or any cognitive disabilities. Is there a way that they can improve their driving?

If your senior wants to improve their driving skills, there are a couple of options. Your senior can take defensive driving classes that will help them refresh their driving skills. Some auto insurers will also give discounts to seniors that complete the class. There are also online and classroom refresher courses that will teach seniors and others about current driving laws and skills. The training class should also cover age-related changes in regards to driving abilities. Classes may last anywhere from 2 to 10 hours. Studies have found that increasing your physical condition will help improve flexibility, coordination, and reduce driver error. Talk to your senior’s doctor before starting a physical conditioning regimen.
