Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of severe vision loss in adults over 50 years of age. It is characterized by a loss of central vision.

Symptoms of AMD include:

  • Loss of ability to see objects clearly
  • Object shapes appear distorted
  • Straight lines look crooked or wavy
  • A dark or empty area in the center of vision
