Sleep disorders are diagnosed after you have explained your symptoms to your doctor and he or she conducts a physical exam. If they believe you have a sleep disorder they are likely to send you for a polysomnography or sleep study or provide recommendations for lifestyle changes, machines, or medicine that will help treat your sleep disorder.
