Unfortunately, most falls occur in the bathroom due to wet surfaces and a lack of senior-friendly safety precautions. That is not to say they cannot happen elsewhere, so always be sure to secure any loose rugs, uneven floorboards, and to fix any faulty railings or other stability features. Preventing falls can also be achieved by wearing properly fitting shoes and reducing the need to travel up and down stairs.
