It's great that you recognized that you are feeling overwhelmed with your caregiving duties. Your own health and well-being is an important part of you being able to provide adequate care for your father. Reaching our for help when you need it is an important part of your job. Have you considered respite care?

Respite care can give family caregivers temporarily relief whether that is just for a couple hours or for several weeks. Respite services are provided through in-home care agencies, adult day care services, and some senior care homes that allow short-term stays. Many caregiver support groups will offer respite assistance. If your caregiver support group does not have these services, visit your local department on aging. There are also volunteer respite services in many communities that will provide companionship, protective supervision, or other assistance.
