Hoarding can become a serious problem for many seniors. Cluttered space in tight quarters can become a serious safety hazard for you and your loved one. Being able to see a clear path is important at all times of day, especially during the night. This is particularly important for flights of stairs. Having the proper handrails and guards installed are dire to maintaining a safe living space. If you're noticing that your mother's hoarding is becoming detrimental to her safety, it might be time to have a garage sale, purchase a storage space, or speak with a counselor or psychiatrist who's focus is on hoarding.
