Whenever the winter rolls around and the days get shorter, now that I'm 68 it's lasting longer than before. Am I depressed?

You may be experiencing what’s known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), meaning the changes in seasons bring about prolonged states of gloom or mood swings. It’s a relatively common disorder and is something that is treatable! Some options include purchasing a light therapy box for SAD, exercising regularly, and trying to get as much natural sunlight as possible. However, if your symptoms persist it may be helpful to talk to your doctor to consider whether depression may be developing.
