I’ve been trying to stay healthy and eat better in my old age but food is so expensive. I’m receiving care at home as needed, but is there anyway to limit these costs?

We’re happy to hear that you’re making nutrition a priority! For seniors looking to receive assistance with food, there are specific resources available. Seniors of low-income families or with little money can utilize the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which is the official name of the food stamp program. These food stamps can be used to by food or food-related products which include seeds and plants to grow food. Alcohol, tobacco, vitamins, and hot food are not included. If this is an option you’re looking to pursue, contact your local SNAP office to learn about your eligibility.
