I think the older my mother gets, the less she can feel temperature on her hands. She has been washing her hands with incredibly hot water and doesn’t know. How can I stop her?

We’re really glad you spotted this; your mother could get a severe burn if she continues to use scalding hot water to wash her hands.

 

One way you can help her is to adjust your water heater temperature to 120 degrees F or lower. This will help prevent burns.
