I want to get a hot tub, but my husband says it’s dangerous. I think he just doesn’t want to pay for it. Are there risks for elderly hot tub use?

There are some risks for seniors using hot tubs. Although they’re a great way to relax, they can also be dangerous for people who have diabetes or high blood pressure, and can increase your risk of a stroke. Other than that, there’s the obvious threat of bacteria or drowning. There are some basic steps you can take to safely use the hot tub, such as don’t soak in water that’s hotter than 102-104 degrees, check with your doctor ahead of time and don’t get into the hot tub alone.
