There is no time commitment when entering an assisted living home. Because seniors in these homes are likely to experience a change in their health condition, long-term leases are not needed. Residents pay month-to-month for room and board and services. Movement from the home can happen at any time, although a majority of facilities require at least a 30-day notice for non-emergencies.
