There are a number of different reasons that one may develop arthritis. For many people, just growing older can put them at risk for some types of arthritis due to their body not being able to recover as quickly from injuries, stress, or damage.

Being overweight or obese may contribute to knee osteoarthritis. Overuse of joints, or not allowing joints to rest properly can also put you at risk for arthritis. There have also been specific types of arthritis that have been linked to genetic factors.
