Everyone, seniors included, should have an emergency roadside kit. Here is a list of things you should consider keeping in your car in case of an emergency:

  • Cell phone
  • First aid kit
  • Flash lights
  • Jack and ground mat for changing a tire
  • Jumper cables
  • Change of clothes
  • Work gloves
  • Repair tools
  • Duct tape
  • Extra fluids (various auto oils and non-freezing windshield washer fluid)
  • Paper towels

You may also want to consider including drinking water, basic over-the-counter medications, and non-perishable food items.
