A variety of factors can increase an individual’s chance of developing shingles. The Mayo Clinic lists these risk factors: being older than 50, having certain diseases, undergoing cancer treatments, and taking certain medications. Essentially aging or weakened immune system are most at risk for developing shingles. It is important to consider receiving the vaccine and consulting your doctor if you believe you may be getting shingles.
