Once you’ve found a rehabilitation center providing the care you need, considering how to pay is the next step. Mostly, it depends on the length of your stay and what conditions are being treated. Medicare will cover up to 100 days of medically necessary care, although for longer stays you’ll want to check your Medicaid eligibility.

Veterans are often eligible for receiving rehabilitation financial assistance, including coverage for a surviving spouse as well. The U.S. department of Veterans Affairs requires that applying veterans confirm their service during at least one day during wartime. Luckily, this doesn’t necessarily mean actual combat.

It may also be possible to get coverage through an existing long-term care insurance policy, or by selling back your current life insurance to receive anywhere from 50-75 percent of its original value.

Getting professional rehabilitation can make a huge difference in your health and wellbeing overall. Don’t be afraid to take the first steps in finding a location to suit your needs today!
