We highly recommend speaking with your doctor before withholding medications, however, it is generally a good idea to withhold medication the night before surgery. Some medication shouldn’t be mixed with anesthesia or other medications, so it’s a good idea to hold onto it the night before your father’s surgery. One night off of the medication shouldn’t affect your loved one, just make sure he resumes taking it after the surgery, and when in doubt, ask his doctor.
